Our form handler went down after we switched hosting providers and we haven’t gotten it back up yet. Sorry for the inconvenience. In the meantime, please email gary@catskillsmarathon.com directly, or use the postal address above. Responses still typically come within 2–3 days.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the course stroller-accessible?
No. The course includes six miles of fire road, gravel, and rocky descent that are not navigable with a stroller or other wheeled equipment.
Can I run with my dog?
Dogs are not permitted on the course. This is for the safety of the dog, other runners, and local wildlife. Service animals may accompany handlers with prior approval — please contact the race director.
Can I bring my kids to watch?
Yes. The start and finish areas on Main Street are family-friendly and have restrooms, food, and seating. The mile 16 aid station is also accessible by car and has a designated spectator area. See the spectator guide for details.
What if it rains?
The race proceeds in light to moderate rain. Lightning, hail, or flash-flood conditions on the course will trigger a hold — runners will be paused at the nearest aid station until conditions clear. If the hold exceeds two hours, the race may be ended early; finishing times to that point will stand. See the weather section above for typical race-day conditions.
Do you have a bag drop?
Yes, at the start line. We’ll have your gear waiting at the finish. Please don’t leave valuables — we are not responsible.
Is there a shorter option?
No. The Catskills Mountain Marathon is only a marathon. For shorter distances, check out the Phoenicia 5K in September.
Can I transfer my bib?
Yes, up to July 8. Email Gary with the new runner’s name, email, and age. No fee. After July 8, no transfers.
